Savchenko’s lawyer goes through ‘extremism check-up’
The lawyer’s remarks on Twitter have led to a check-up.
The Russian Investigation Committee has started ‘an extremism check-up’ against him, the Ukrainian pilot’s lawyer Mark Feigin said. The problem has been caused by the fact that he is defending the Ukrainian pilot, he believes.
The check-up is not a joke, RBK quotes Feigin. The Investigation Committee is checking him for extremism, he wrote on Twitter. The lawyer believes that the check-up has been caused by his remarks on Twitter. ‘They’ (the authorities or the Investigation Committee) have been ‘patient’ for 9.5 months, the lawyer thinks. But now it is becoming clear that Savchenko’s case is falling to pieces.
He will not quit defending Savchenko despite the pressure, Feigin assured.
