38 people detained after bank attack in Kiev (video)

Several dozen armed men wearing masks seized the building of the Ukrainian Business Bank in Moskovskaya Street last night. They captured the guards (who had managed to report the attack), took away their weapons and let them off. One of the guards said: the criminals were not going to rob the bank, they wanted to guard it. At the same time, reports about strangers trying to open the safe vault appeared.

Riot policemen from Alfa and Titan and representatives of Maidan Self-Defence arrived on the spot. The attackers agreed to surrender and hand in their weapons after negotiations. All of them were detained. It turned out that they were Ukrainian citizens. Nothing has been reported about their motives so far. A criminal case has been started.

Ex vice-PM Serhei Arbuzov has been the President, CEO and adviser of the Ukrainian Business Bank since 2003, UNIAN reports.
