U.S. President’s Assistant:Sanctions - adequate response to repressions

The U.S. sanctions imposed on the Belarusian administration were “an adequate response” to the repressions launched after the presidential election in Belarus.
Michael McFaul, Special Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs and senior director of Russian and Eurasian Affairs at the United States National Security Council, claimed it in an interview with the radio station “Voice of America”.

"The sanctions are American. I would like to clarify it: we did not follow Europeans. They have introduced their sanctions and we have introduced ours”, - stressed Michael McFaul. - "We are convinced that it was an adequate response to the terrible repressions launched during and after the presidential election in Belarus”, - reports BelaPAN.
