St Petersburg to host CIS informal summit in June

The leaders of CIS member states will receive invitations to attend an informal summit during an economic forum in St Petersburg after Russian president-elect Dmitry Medvedev's official inauguration, Sergei Vyazalov, an official from the Russian presidential administration, said today. During the forum on June 6-8, the CIS heads of the state will gather for a traditional informal summit. The Russian president is also expected to meet with the representatives of the business circles.

According to Russian Minister for Economic Development Elvira Nabibyulina, Dmitry Medvedev will also make a speech during the forum's plenary session on the first day of the forum. She declined to reveal the main topics of Medvedev's presentation. However, Nabibyulina said that both long-term and short-term decisions would be discussed.
