Student who got 4 out of 100 points at centralized maths test to study the subject in BSU
Euroradio has decided to find out how many test points are necessary to become a paid university student.
“There are bad results. And there are people with 100 points. There is a person with 4 points for the maths test and he will study mathematics”, - a BSU employee has informed Euroradio about the test results of paid students of the applied mathematics and informatics faculty.
Such students rarely get their diplomas. About 15 people out of 300 will be expelled. The BSU can predict it even today.
“The people came on the last day and presented their documents just to enter some university. As a rule, they do not care what university it is on the last day”.
Teachers have suggested introducing minimal test requirements for the main course so that people with only 4 points could not enter. For example, the average result of the physics test in 2011 was 18.6 so it should be forbidden to accept students who have a worse result.
“I do understand that this is not a good result. But what can we do? We have to stick to the plan. Maybe he will manage to succeed. If he doesn’t – he will be expelled. But we will give him a chance. We cannot refuse to accept documents”, - said a representative of the BSPU entrance examination committee.
A person with 76 points has entered Belarusian State Pedagogical University. He will study at the primary education faculty to become an elementary school teacher.
A student with 80 points will study at the pre-school education faculty. There was no contest at the mathematics and physics faculties – anyone could become a paid student there.
Three thirds of vacancies have remained unclaimed at the “economy and industrial engineering” faculty of Baranavichy University. The university lacks 200 paid day students!
