Pro-Russia militants with baseball bats disperse patriotic meeting
The meeting was held in Rubezhnoye, Lugansk Oblast. A group of young pro-Russia militants armed with baseball bats dispersed it.
A lot of people were beaten and injured, UNIAN reports.
The action took about an hour. A great number of pro-Moscow militants arrived there. Some of them were disguised. Shouting out ‘Fascists!’ and ‘Traitors!’, they attacked the participants of the patriotic action.
The small-scale police forces could not stop them. Pro-Ukraine protesters were dispersed – people had to escape to the nearest yards but the militants caught and beat them. It is not clear who controls the situation, Ukrainian activists say.
