March 8 together with a female trio
The presentation of a joint project by Masha Makarova from Masha I Medvedi band, Guya Arutyunyan from Picasso Children and Marina Cherkunova, the soloist from Total band, who have united in a female rock-trio, will take place in the Moscow club Iskra on March 7.
The working name of the program is Rock-and-Doll, but according to Shandor, who manages Picasso Children, it will be changed into something sounding Russian. The idea of the project belongs to Total’s drummer Evgeniy Nikulin.
Together with Gaya Arutyunyan, he has composed music for several joint compositions. The texts are authored by Picasso Children’s drummer Bogdan Bobrov.
According to Shandor, “the girls have obtained an opportunity to do a joint project only now, because both Masha i Medvedi and Total did not exist as bands for a certain period of time. On the eve of the International Women’s Day, they decided to do a “female show” for their female fans.”
“There has been nothing like this on the Russian scene. The girls had no negative emotions while working together in a studio for five hours. That’s why we decided to do this concert,” said Masha Makarova.
The presentation will be divided into several parts. First, the girls will appear on stage with their solo numbers from their own new releases. Towards the end of the show, they will perform several new compositions as a trio.
The girls have finalized three joint singles and are set to add three more soon.
