Belarusian children write to Santa Claus

European children usually ask for games and books for the New Year, and kids from Russia and Ukraine get chocolate from their parents most often. Small kids get games. Russian and French children usually receive maccanos.The consulting company Deloitte came to such conclusions.

The Spaniards (72%), the Poles, the Greeks (by 68%) and the Portuguese (67%) prefer educational toys. German parents value the so-called traditional toys more than any other Europeans.  Ecological toys are preferred by the Ukrainians (26%), the Finns (24%) and the Russians (16%).

For young people aged 18-24, the most desirable gift is money, followed by shoes and clothes.

In today's internet age kids still believe in Santa Claus and write him e-mails. Andrey tells what letters they get from Belarusian children:

The Germans buy the Christmas gifts the earliest - in November.The Czechs, the Dutch, and the Swiss also love to buy presents in advance. The Greeks, the Ukrainians and the Russians postpone it till almost the last moment – they do it in the second half of December. By the way, most people in our neighboring countries celebrate Christmas in January.
