Russia destroys 39 tons of peaches and nectarines (video)
The fruit were delivered to Russia from Belarus.
Russia has published a video showing the destruction of 39 tons of ‘banned’ peaches and nectarines. The incident occurred in Sebezhski District of Pskov Oblast on August 7. The video appeared on August 10.
Two trucks transporting 19 and 19.5 tons of nectarines and peaches with fake Moroccan and Ecuadorian certificates were detained. The route of their delivery was strange – the fruit had been brought to Russia from Ecuador across Belarus and Latvia. The Russian Agricultural Inspectorate conducted a check-up and found out that the certificates had been forged.
The products were confiscated and destroyed at a dump in Sebezhski District.
