Reports: Turkey threatens to block Bosporus for Russian ships
Turkish PM Recep Erdoğan has warned Russian President Vladimir Putin, some mass media report.
They talked by phone on the evening on March 16 and discussed the Crimean referendum unrecognized by almost the whole world. The Turkish PM had received a report about a Tatar killed in Crimea before the conversation, UNIAN reports.
If Russia encroaches on the Ukrainian territory and the self-declared Crimean government commits violence against Tatars, Turkey will have to block the Black Sea straits for Russian ships, Erdoğan warned Putin.
