Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu to lodge complaint about tortures to UN today

Political prisoners described tortures and law violations in Belarusian prisons. Nyaklyayeu has informed BelaPAN that the complaint will describe the facts of tortures and collected evidence.

Let us remind you that ex-candidate Ales Mihalevich was the first person who claimed that he had been tortured. His words were confirmed by other arrested participants of the Square including ex-candidate Andrei Sannikau later.

Nyaklyayeu would like to invite the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture to Belarus.

The politician has also informed that the campaign “Tell the Truth!” has taken the political prisoners convicted for participation in the Square on December 19 under its patronage. According to Nyaklyayeu, the main problem is the fact that almost no one, even relatives, can contact the prisoners. It is impossible to find out in what condition they are. That is why Nyaklyayeu and his companions have deiced to ask the international community for help.
