Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu gets "Clay Viales" award
The awarding ceremony took place not in Polatsk as usual, but in Minsk - the poet is not allowed to leave the city.
Nyaklyaeu said that he had become estranged from literature events - his political campaign and subsequent imprisonement had not given him an opportunity to write.
“Frankly speaking, politics is not totally my business. It requires other type of thinking, even the fundamentals are transformed in politics. In literature, you can write a poem, not knowing the final. In politics, you cannot do that”, — “Nasha Niva” quotes the poet-politician.
A "Clay Viales" figurine created by Henek Lojka was given to Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu as an award, together with a copy of the BPR cross on a white-red-white ribbon, which Nyaklyaeu put on instead of a tie at the spot.
