Polish Foreign Office awards Ales Byalyatski
This is a special award of the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs founded for human rights defenders.
BelaPAN informs that Minister Radosław Sikorski presented the diploma to Byalyatski’s wife Natallya Pinchuk in Warsaw on December 12.
The head of the Polish diplomats noted that Byalyatski’s award is a sign of support of the Belarusian democratic community and recognition of a just person.
Let us remind you that the human rights activist was sentenced to 4.5 years of imprisonment in a colony. He was accused of major tax evasion. Documents presented by Lithuania and Poland were the reason for it.
