Negotiations on 5th tranche of EurAsEC credit to Belarus start on Feb.21

According to Shatalau’s words quoted by, the aim of the negotiations is to sign a new letter of intent in 2013.

However, Shatalau said that from the point of view of the Eurasian Development Bank, which manages the funds of the ACF EurAsEC, Belarus excesses the scope of credits to the economy. According to him, the growth rate of credit to the economy by the end of 2012 was 30%, although the coordinated rate was twice less. It threatens the Belarusian economy with inflation and deteriorating balance of payments.
The fourth tranche in the amount of $ 440 million was transferred this year on January 31. This year Belarus expects to receive two tranches for a total of $ 880 million. The EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund provided this money to stabilize the balance of payments of Belarus and increase the economic competitiveness.
