Frontier guard who missed Swedish plane jailed for 2 years

"One of the military courts" considered his case. The convict will spend two years in a reinforced-security colony, informs BELTA.

Euroradio reminds, in the morning on July 4, 2012, the Swedish light-motor plane "Jodel" crossed the Belarusian-Lithuanian border with no obstacles, flew over Minsk, dropped teddy bears and got back. The pilots informed about this flight themselves, and published a complete video-record of the plane's being in the Belarusian air space. The Belarusian Defense Ministry stated in response that no border violation had been recorded, and the video materials were fake. They admitted the fact of the flight later, when Alyaksandr Lukashenka said this.

The convicted military man was an officer-on-duty at the frontier guarding point. He got the information about the incident from the duty detail but didn't pass it further to the officer-on-duty of the frontier guard brigade.
