Family of convicted Ukrainian ex-minister are not going to leave country
The family of Ukraine's former Interior Minister Yury Lutsenko stays in Ukraine. Lutsenko's wife Iryna has stated this.
She says that she hoped for the positive verdict but she knew that the authorities would never go for this before the election to the Supreme Rada.
Let us remind you, hero of the Orange Revolution Yury Lutsenko was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. He was accused of exceeding the official powers at his position of a Minister of Internal Affairs.
According to the information provided by the web-site "Podrobnosti", the EU has already expressed dissatisfaction with the sentence, in the person of Catherine Ashton. According to her, this is the signal of continuation of the court practice which does not meet the international standards, in Ukraine.
