Amnesty International calls Julia Tymoshenko's trial politically motivated
Heather McGill, Amnesty International's researcher on Ukraine, said this on air to 5 Channel.
The representative of the human rights organization has informed that Ukraine's ex-Prime Minister was sentenced for her political decisions, which should be estimated by voters, not by court. Therefore, Amnesty International considers the trial against Julia Tymoshenko politically motivated, and thinks that the reaction of the international community is adequate.
Let us remind you, several days ago the Pecherski court of Kyiv sentenced Julia Tymoshenko to seven years of imprisonment for signing gas contracts with Russia in 2009 which were not beneficial for Ukraine.
