Lukashenka does not want to ‘sell his signature’ (video)

Alyaksandr Lukashenka will take part in the meeting of the Higher Eurasian Economic Council together with the Russian and Kazakhstani Presidents today.

The Eurasian Economic Union Agreement will be in the centre of attention. Lukashenka criticized the agreement before departure. Belarus’ partners used to promise different terms without any customs exceptions, he said.

Lukashenka: "We are being criticized a lot. Russian mass media say that Lukashenka wants to sell his signature and so on. I would like to openly claim that Belarus, just like Russia and Kazakhstan, will go where it is more beneficial. The country’s interests are the top priority. But we have never been skinflints.”

Belarus has never asked ‘more than it was giving’ from its neighbours, the state leader noted.

This is not the agreement Belarus expected to sign and not the document Russia mentioned earlier, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said. That is why he will conduct ‘complicated negotiations before signing it today.
