Contact group on Ukraine gathers in Minsk

Another round of talks of the tripartite contact group on Ukraine has begun in Minsk. According to the Belarus MFA press service twitter, the talks are being held in the format of plenary with participation of all parties.

Among those present at the talks in Minsk are Leonid Kuchma, representing Ukrainian authorities, Heidi Tagliavini of the OSCE and the Russian ambassador Azamat Kulmuhometov, as well as representatives of the separatists Vladislav Deynega and Denis Pushylin.

Incidentally, Mr. Pushylin told reporters that the talks are also being attended by four subgroups, which will work within the framework of the tripartite contact group. Previously, it was assumed that the result of today's meeting will be the launch of the sub-groups on security, political, economic and humanitarian component of the Minsk agreement. The subgroups will be coordinated by OSCE representatives.
