Belarusian prices increase 10 times quicker than EU’s

Prices in EU member states have increased by only 0.8% since the beginning of the year. Belarus is 10 times ahead of the EU, has counted “Komsomolskaya Pravda in Belarus”. At the same time, this year’s inflation is as expected: 7.5% from January to August. The price growth is most felt in grocery stores. Belarusians still spend most of their income on food. Our products have become 4% more expensive since the beginning of the year and European ones have become 1.5% cheaper.

However, prices for vegetables and fruit have decreased by 31% in our country and by only 7.5% in the EU. The new harvest has helped Belarus. However, prices for other products have not dropped.
