Andrei Haidukou’s sentence to be pronounced on July 1

23-year-old Andrei Haidukou is accused of having violated two articles: part 1, art. 14 “Attempted Crime” and part 1, art. 356 “Treason”, Radio Liberty reports.

The civil activist from Navapolatsk was detained by KGB in November 2012. According to the state security services, he was detained while making a cache for information that could interest foreign intelligence. The young man was accused of treason. However, KFB chief Valery Vakulchyk said that the charges could be changed during the trial.

Illya Bahdanau, witness in Haidukou’s case, was informed yesterday that June 27 would be his last day at work. He is a legal adviser in Navapolatsk Housing and Communal Services.
