Lukashenka: Our new banknotes are ready, they resemble euro
President Lukashenka on a visit to Baranavichy talked to workers of the local aircraft repair plant about possible denomination.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka commented on the economic situation. Everything is ready for redenomination in Belarus, even the new banknotes have been printed, he said.
"We will do it when it’s time,” BELTA quotes Lukashenka. “I told you that the banknotes had been printed long ago – they are beautiful and resemble the euro.”
However, ‘the economy should start working and become stable before redenomination’, Alyaksandr Lukashenka noted. The state leader urged Belarusians to stop running around visiting foreign currency exchange offices and to spend Belarusian roubles on the things they need.
