Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affaires advises to change passports before vacations

The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affaires advises citizens to change expired passports in advance instead of waiting for the holiday season to come. The Ministry says people should better not wait till March or June and to go to passport departments now, because the bureau of passport services, migration and citizenship reports that the number of people wishing to make new passports has doubled in comparison with this winter.

The Ministry of Internal Affaires and the Ministry of Economy have prepared an order about quick creation of documents which would allow changing passports in 10 days time.
