The Belarusian military can now operate Iskander mobile short-range ballistic missile systems all by itself, the Defense Ministry of Belarus' press service reports. The missile systems designed to destroy air defense systems, command posts, aircraft at airfields, infrastructure facilities, and ships - came from Russia at the end of last year.

The Belarusian military personnel underwnt training in Russia, with practical drills taking place at the firing grounds in Belarus.

Belarusian Defense Ministry claims that the country has "a sufficient stock of missiles for the system," which can strike at distances of up to 500 kilometers. Previously, the Belarusian missile forces were capable of hitting targets at a distance up to 300 kilometers.
