Workers at Minsk Tractor Works told to go for one-week unpaid leave

The Minsk Tractor Works will come to a hault for one week in November, Aliaksandr Yarashuk, the chairman of the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions, said in a statement. The plant's management notified workers that the works would be closed down from November 3 through November 11. At the same time, workers have not yet been paid their salaries for September, reports Charter'97.

According to Yarashuk, plant has to suspend operation due to the problem with the pay arrears. The management said workers are told to go on a leave because of the holidays.
