Minsk hostage release operation details
The man who attacked a teller at a mall's exchange office was neutralized by Almaz commandos using weapons, BELTA refers to TV Belarus 1.
A tall and strong middle-aged man used a weapon (probably a Makarov gun) and took the teller hostage at 1 p.m. on October 1. The police tried negotiating with the attacker until 4.20 p.m. The negotiations brought no result and a special operation was started. The man was neutralised with the help of weapons.
The teller (a young woman) stayed alive. The attacker was taken to hospital.
