Maryna Shkermankova wins first medal for Belarus in London
The Belarusian weight-lifter will get 50 thousand USD as prize money for the "bronze".
Belarusian weight-lifters were a success in the category up to 69 kilos on August 1. Maryna Shkermankova won the bronze, another Belarusian - Dzina Sazanavets - became the 4th.
South Korea's Jong Sim got the first place (total — 261 kilos), Roxana Daniela from Romania got the second (256 kilos). Shkermankova and Sazanavets got 256 kilos, and the places were divided in accordance with their own weight.
Maryna Shkermankova is 22. She was born on April 9, 1990 in Hlybokae. She is a student, studies in Vitsebsk. She has been the European Champion among juniors twice (in 2009 and 2010), a silver medalist of the youth European Championship-2009, and a bronze winner of the youth European Championship-2011. She entered the adult category just recently.
