Kurmanbek Bakiyev gets 24 years of imprisonment
Former President of Kazakhstan who found asylum in Belarus was sentenced in Bishkek in absense.
According to the decision
of the Military Court of Bishkek Garrison, Bakiyev's brother Janysh got
lifetime imprisonment with property confiscation.
According to the information provided by the website 24kg.org, Kurmanbek Bakiyev was
considered guilty of abuse of official power, while Janysh Bakiyev - of
murdering several people and other crimes.
We remind, the former President of Kyrgyzstan moved to Belarus in April 2010,
after the revolution and change of authority. Belarusian authorities refused to
extradite Bakiyev and his brother to Kyrgyzstan many times.
