Gazprom owns 25% of Beltransgaz shares

Russian gas giant Gazprom currently holds 25 percent of Beltransgaz's shares, Belarusian ambassador in Kiev Valiantsin Vialichka said in an interview with the local television Channel 5.  He reminded that the partial privatization was scheduled for 4 years and cost nealy $5 billion.

Two huge gas pipelines -- Yamal Europe and Beltransgaz's networks -- run through the territory of Belarus. Their combined capacity is over 50 billion cubic meters of gas. Yamal Europe routinely pumps around 33 billion cubic meters, while the rest is distributed through Beltransgaz's networks, the Belarusian ambassador noted.
