Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Andrei Khudyk recently commented on the mineral reserves in Belarus. "At the current rate of extraction, Belarus has enough potash and rock salt, dolomite, clay and sand for more than 100 years," BelTA state news agency quoted him as saying.

There is enough peat for the next 70 years, while underground water and building stone reserves are enough for 50 years. "In addition, thanks to the constant work of geologists, our mineral reserves are replenished every year," Hudyk added.

In 2018-2020, the Novy Dvor deposit in the Pinsk region with new types of minerals - basalts and tuffs - was discovered and provisionally explored in Belarus.
