BCD leader fined for Br2 million for false alarm

The politician was accused of petty hooliganism. A report was drawn up against him in Minsk Soviet District Department of the Interior and he was fined, Rymasheuski told Euroradio.

Rymasheuski took part in collecting signatures for BCD representative Maryna Homich in Minsk Kamarouski Market on February 2.

Vital Rymasheuski: "Policemen in plain clothes approached us. They did not introduce themselves. It has turned out that the deputy head of Minsk Soviet District Department of the Interior was among them. They started photographing our faces from close range and were preventing us from collecting signatures and insulting people. We had to call the police but they did not come... They have returned us guilty of a false alarm today. It has never happened before! That’s a new precedent.”

Police have been recently allowed to fine people for petty administrative violations. Rymasheuski has probably become the first politician to experience it.
