Automatic doors at Minsk Metro Line 3 stations (photo)

Automatic doors will be installed at the newcstations of the Minsk Metro's 3rd line currently in construction. They will be on the both sides of the platform to prevent passengers from falling on the rails. Such accidents are quite often on the 1st and 2nd lines of the Minsk underground system. According to minsknews.by, the screen will be 170 cm high. The production and mounting of this equipment costs nearly $1 million.

This is a pilot project to be tested on the 3rd line before similar screens may be installed on the 1st and the 2nd lines. The first four stations of the 3rd line are expacted to open in 2020.
