40 bombs dropped on major Libyan airfield

At the same time, US Air Force fighter jets conducted missions attacking Muammar Qaddafi's Libyan ground forces. Not a single American plane has been brought down, report information agencies.

The Western countries’ military operation began in Libya on the evening of March 19. French, UK and US Air Forces started attacking Libyan objects after Qaddafi's regime had ignored the cease fire demand. The demand was pronounced by the UN Security Council on March 17.

According to Qaddafi's adherents, the Western Air Forces killed 48 people and wounded 150 on March 20. The official mass media claim that civilian objects were attacked and that the majority of the victims were elderly people, women and children. Meanwhile, the operation participants claim that air defense objects, artillery and Qaddafi’s armoured troops were targeted.
