Travel restrictions in place for 'Belta case' suspects

The suspects in the so called 'Belta case' - Paulyuk Bykouski, Tatsiana Karaviankova, Hanna Kaltyhina, Halina Ulasik and Iryna Leushyna - have been temporarily restricted from foreign travel effective from 27 August, reports the press office of Belarusian Association of Journalists.

Euroradio reported earlier that the Investigation Committee has opened a criminal case against several editors and journalists from TUT.BY and BelaPAN charged with illegitimate access to the paid news feed of state-run news agecy Belta. The offices of TUT.BY and BelaPAN were searched on 7 August. 8 people were detained on the next coupe of days - Maryna Zolatava, Hanna Kaltyhina, Halina Ulasik, Hanna Yermachonak, Tatsiana Karaviankova, Paulyuk Bykouski and Iryna Leushyna. All of them were later released after one or two night in detention.
