Sloviansk militants release OSCE observers (video)

Militants have released OSCE military inspectors following an agreement with Vladimir Lukin – a representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He unofficially visited Donetsk ‘on a private mission’.

OSCE observers were released without any terms, Ukrainian Pravda quotes Lukin.

Sloviansk separatists captured the OSCE mission on April 25. The captives were supposed to be exchanged for separatists detained by the authorities earlier, self-declared Mayor of Sloviansk Vyacheslav Ponomaryov said. Separatists are still holding about 50 people captive. There are journalists, Ukrainian soldiers and activists among them.

SBU has published the recording of Lukin’s negotiations with separatists’ leader Igor Girkin (also known as Strelok). The captives were released for Lukin, Girkin said.
