Early voting concludes elections in Horki (video)
Students are "ordered to vote and vacate dormitories" for the guests of Dazhynki harvest festival.
883 people participated in the election at the voting point No. 3 in Horki for the first day of the early voting. This is more than a half of the voters from the list. Mostly students voted there. Observer of the campaign "Human Rights Defenders for Fair Elections" Halina Budnaya has told Euroradio the following:
"Yesterday
it was the first day of the early voting, and I can say that they just streamed
there. I am an observer at this very voting point. About 250 people voted
within the first half an hour since the opening time till half past 10... The
point is, this year the Dazhynki harvest fest coincided with the election,
or vice versa... "Dazhynki" will take place on September 21-22. Many
guests will arrive to Horki. They will need accommodation. Therefore, the
students were ordered to vote and to vacate the dormitories".
883 people out of 1600 voted by the moment of the voting point closing.
