Belarus, Russia to negotiate truck-makers merger

The sides will negotiate the setting up of the Rosbelavto joint holding company on the basis of MAZ and KamAZ truck-making works, reports RIA Novosti.

The two countries have been in talks over creating the auto holding since the winter of 2010. Initially, it was planned to share the stocks between MAZ and KamAZ, but the Belarusian authorities rejected this option.

Belarusian First Vice PM Uladzimir Syamashka stated in June 2012 that Belarus wanted to input 75% minus 1 share of MAZ into the holding in order to get 50% of the leading company's stocks. It was expected before that the Russian side would input 49,9% of KamAZ shares.
