Belarusians created an interactive map of xenophobia in Poland

An interactive map of xenophobia in Poland has been created by Belarusian activists. On it, you can see which Polish cities have the most frequent conflicts based on nationality, and also report an incident if you have become a victim.

One of the website's creators, human rights defender Maryna Kasinerava, told the outlet MOST in an interview that the site accumulates data on insults, attacks, and discrimination, but also on police raids and cases of mass deportation. The map is populated on the basis of public testimonies. Activists collect reports from social media, public groups, and police reports. Some of the publications are accompanied by photographs of aggressors or victims.

Migrants can also independently submit information about manifestations of xenophobia by filling out a form on the website.

According to data collected by human rights defenders, the most conflicts based on nationality occur in large cities — Warsaw, Poznań, and Gdańsk. The most frequent victims of xenophobia are Ukrainians, with Belarusians in second place. However, Poles also suffer in nationality-based conflicts.

Human rights defenders acknowledge that only a fraction of such cases make it into the public domain.
