Reduced working day causes increase in illegal entrepreneurship

The reduction of the working day by a number of enterprises has caused an illegal entrepreneurship, Belarus' deputy minister for taxes and revenues Vasil Kamianko said in a statement.
He maintains that some workers have free time and they have begun offering services like cab driving, construction works, furniture assembly, car repairs and others.

Despite the difficulties, revenue authority officials detect those individuals and warn them about their illegal operation, the deputy minister said.

The Belapan news agency reports that 10,5 thousand persons were found to operate without registration over the past five months of the year, three times more than in 2008.
