Lukashenka legalizes car-fixing workshops in garages
The new decree No 432 allows entrepreneurs to render auto services in public garages but also sets out stricter measures against illegal businesses.
An individual entrepreneur can equip his garage as a car workshop upon the agreement of the assembly of the garage co-operative of authorized members of such co-operatives. If the owner of the garage conducts illegal entrepreneur activity, he can be expelled from the co-operative by the common decision of its members' assembly.
The decree also defines the sources to cover the expenses held as a result of illegal activity of a car workshop, or the activity conducted with violation of the safety arrangements. The expenses should be covered by the owner of the workshop or the person that caused the damage.
The decree comes into force on November 1, 2013. Garage co-operatives should bring their statutes into correspondence with this document within 6 months.
