Lukashenka attending CIS summit in Moldova

Belarus president Alexander Lukashenk today is in the Moldovan capital of Chisiniau attenting the summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The summit's agenda includes nearly 20 draft documents. The heads of the state will discuss issues associated with the affects of the global financial crisis as well as integration processes in the humanitarian and security spheres.

The document which proposes actions to overcome the consequences of the global economic crisis was endorsed by Belarus and is one of the most important issues on agenda. The draft document recommends that governments should refrain from new protectionist measures for domestic producers. Those measures could restrict even further the access of goods from other CIS member states to domestic markets, reports BELAPAN.
