Kandrat Krapiva’s poplar felled in Minsk
Minsk Central District "Zelenbud" started felling a 28-meter high old poplar near the “Panorama” shop in Starazhouskaya Street on the morning of March 18. The tree is more than 50 years old. It was planted by a famous Belarusian writer Kandrat Krapiva.
Readers of “Komsomolskaya pravda v Belarusi” leaving in the block of flats situated nearby informed the edition about it.
Meanwhile, employees of “Zelenbud” claim that poplars are very dangerous. Strong wind will immediately result in a disaster. An elite multi-storied block of flats will be built in the place where the old poplar is being felled now.
