Former Deputy Prosecutor General faces criminal charges

BELTA reports Alyaksandr Arkhipau was discharged from the position of the Deputy Prosecutor General and fired from the prosecution authorities for the actions that discredited the official of the prosecution authorities and are not compatible with further work as such, by the order of the Prosecutor General of Belarus dated November 4.

Arkhipau's discharge became known at one of the Thursday meetings held by Alyaksandr Lukashenka. The state leader said there was a murdered person in that case and 'the matter was kept quiet with the help of the authorities'. 'What would the people, the neighbours, the family think? That we have no state power? Where's justice? Take all the measures under control," the Belarusian leader told the Prosecutor General.
