Edward Malafeyeu becomes manager of FC “Shahtsyor”
A 67-year-old Edward Malafeyeu has been appointed manager of a football club “Shahtsyor” (Salihorsk). BelaPAN informs that a meeting of shareholders of a closed company FC “Shahtsyor” took place on November 24. They considered the results of season-2009 and decided to dismiss the manager of “Shahtsyor” Alyaksei Vyarheyenka. The shareholders appointed Edward Malafeyeu for the position.
“Shahtsyor” took the sixth position in the national championship last year. The team was fourth in 2008, third – in 2007 and 2006 and first – in 2005.
Malafeyeu headed Saint Petersburg “Dinamo” in season-2009 and helped the team make it to the first league of the Russian championship. He refused to prolong the contract with the club due to his health condition.
Malafeyeu was the manager of Belarus national team in 2000-2003.
