Yandex co-founder Ilya Segalovich dies at 49
He suffered from stomach cancer, Yandex sources said.
Ilya Segalovich was born in 1964. He invented the word Yandex with his schoolmate Arkady Volozh and created a system of searching for information on the Internet. Thus, he became a co-founder of the most popular Russian search-engine. He was technical director of Yandex in the last years of his life.
He was also member of the charity organization Maria’s Children together with his wife Maria. Segalovich had 4 children, lenta.ru notes.
