In August, Belarus' gold and currency reserves grew $216.2 million or by 3.1%, reaching $7 billion 246.4 million as of 1 September (according to preliminary estimates), reports the press office of the National Bank. In July, the currnecy reserves grew 2.9% or $198.8 million.

Among the factors that have contributed to this growth in foreign assets are the currency purchase at Belarusian Currency and Bonds Stock Exchange, foreign currency inflows to the country's budget, including the sale of bonds at the domestic market, and export duties on crude oil and petrochemical products.
