Belarus MFA asks not to mock "Belarusian shrimp"

"Belarus has the right and the opportunity to charter vessels and marine craft, and such products are allowed to be imported into the territory of the Customs Union. Therefore, there shouldn't be any jokes about "Belarusian shrimp" and "Belarusian cod," Belarusian diplomats explained to interfax.by

The ministry said that for a while Belarus rented two ships in Kaliningrad. They went out into the Atlantic and caught herring, cod and other kinds of fish.

Diplomats are asking to distinguish the concept of "country of origin" and "country of production." If the label says "Made in Belarus" - this means that the raw materials, including the imported one, had undergone deep processing.
