Belarus to fight destructive cults

Belarus will step up the fight against new cults and pseudo religions, said Leanid Hulyaka, the Cabinet of Ministers' official in charge of religious affairs and nationalities, reports Interfax. He said the authorities detected "attempts to run a number of pseudo religious and destructive groups" last year.

The government in Belarus is preparing measures which aim to prevent the distribution of the literature and videos that "could potentially destabilize the ethnic and confessional situation in this country", said Leanid Hulyaka.
