Zaika on anti-freeloaders campaign: We will look ridiculous in the world

Once again, during his working trip to Mahiliou region President Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that it is necessary to actively fight with loafers. There is half a million of them in Belarus.

At the same time, you cannot call those working abroad loafers. Economist Leanid Zaika notes that the president repeats his comments, given to various editions. Zaika had noted earlier that one cannot call loafers the people who bring currency into the country while earning it at a construction site in Moscow or in Europe.

According to the economist, Lukashenka was given some dangerous information about freeloaders.

Zaika: "Belarusian statistics proves Lukashenka wrong. Some of the assistants suggested Lukashenka a dangerous thing, since according to statistics, we have 25-40,000 of unemployed. If suddenly the head of state says something about 400 thousands, and to the IMF and the UN we declare that we have 25 thousand unemployed, the question arises about the reality of figures. Belarusians, tell me who you are cheating? This is dangerous, as the head of state overstates the unemployment figures by 25 times."

Zaika believes that because of such big discrepancies in figures, Belarus could become a laughing stock in the international arena.
