WTO: Belarusian trade unions’ situation has not improved

The World Trade Organization sees no attempts to stick to its recommendations in Belarus. WTO has tried to include Belarus in a special section for the fourth time for the past 5 years. At the same time the Belarusian Federation of Trade Unions claims that many delegates tell lies about our country “as they are told to and they do it out of fear”. BFTU press service informs that “more and more trade unions are joining the appeal of BFTU in spite of the fact that there were tries to nullify the action and the appeals of BFTU and to present the signatures of trade unions as invalid. Delegates are under a great pressure.

Leanіd Kozіk sent a letter to the EU trade commissioner Peter Mandelson, the Secretary General of the European Confederation of trade Unions John Monks and the Secretary General of the International Confederation of Trade Unions Guy Rider. He “denounced the distribution of slander and the printed copies of real documents” in his letter, reports an internet edition “Telegraph” referring to the BFTU press service.
